Original Art - Spider-Man Comics Weekly #007 (UK) (1973) by Jim Starlin Al Milgrom And Frank Giacoia
This is the original artwork drawn for the cover of Spider-Man Comics Weekly #7 (1973), a British reprint of Marvel Comics’ Silver Age books. The abbreviated credits at the top of the page read “St./Milg./ Giacoia” which I assume means Starlin/Milgrim/ Giacoia, meaning this art was laid out by Starlin, with Al Milgrim finishing the pencils, which were then inked by Frank Giacoia. Jim Starlin was one of the “New Wave” of artistic greats to enter the comic book world as the Bronze Age was beginning, as did Al Milgrim, while Frank Giacoia was one of the “old- timers” of the comics’ industry. “The Chameleon” and “The Mighty Thor” pictures are stats. On the final published cover, the stake which is holding Spidey’s chain was turned into a large steel ball.
